Wine of the Week…Wildflower Pinot Grigio

Wildflower Pinot Grigio

If you fancy something completely different this week, why not try this crisp, award-winning wine from Cramele Recas’ Romanian vineyards.  Whilst you may not immediately associate wine-making with Romania, it is a fact that Romanian vineyards were first planted by the Romans and boast an ancient wine-making tradition.
Wildflower is a zesty modern take on the traditional Pinot Grigio, and well worth a try, as it was recently awarded 95 points in the Decanter World Wine Awards, the World’s largest and most influential Wine Competition.  Pale yellow in colour with a hint of green, fresh and fruity with citrus and jasmine on the nose and crisp and full of fruit flavour.  It is a light-bodied wine with an abundant melon, apple and citrus finish.
A perfect aperitif wine for drinking well-chilled on a crisp afternoon.  It is also perfect with warm creamy pasta, seafood and oriental dishes.
If you’re eating something different, we have a wide selection of wines available at a range of prices to suit all budgets, and our off-sales team are always happy to advise you on the right choice to match a particular dish.
