Wine of the Week at Mulkerns – Saint Clair Sauvignon Blanc
We’re off to New Zealand (if only) for our Wine of the Week. Shane has chosen the delightful St Clair Family Estate Sauvignon Blanc from the popular Marlborough Region to feature this week. The Saint Clair Family Estate is owned by Neal and Judy Ibbotson, who were among the first to plant grapes in this now famous wine region, in 1978.
This vegan-friendly wine boasts tropical aromas of passionfruit and grapefruit, followed through on the palate combining with herbaceous characters and a subtle salty note. A rich and weighty wine with a clean finish.
If you are dining this weekend, this wine is perfect with Fresh Shellfish, Fish, and Tomato-Based dishes. Pairing nicely this week with a selection of the dishes from our popular Tapas range, such as our Fiery Prawn Linguine or Pan Fried Seabass with Lemon and Mushroom Risotto.
Apparently this wine also goes very nicely with traditional Fish and Chips.
