Wine of the Week…Bodega Piedra Negra Malbec
Perfect for cosy autumn evenings, this weeks Wine of the Week is Argentinian Bodega Piedra Negra. This wine is 100% Malbec, perfectly at home in Argentina where the soil and climate are ideally suited to this variety of grape.
Wine-maker Francois Lurton planted his vineyard in Argentina following an extensive search across several regions. The vineyard is located in the Mendoza region at high altitude in the Uco Valley, where the conditions are semi-desert.
This Malbec is an intense purple red colour. On the attack there are notes of red fruits with plums and berries on the palate. This develops into a rich and intense full-bodied experience, mixing with coffee and vanilla notes and boasting a long finish.
This wine will pair beautifully with red meats and venison, and is a delightful wine for cosy autumn evenings by the fire.
