Wine of the Week…Fork Handles

Fork Handles Wine

Fork Handles Garnacha Syrah

With the sun shining our ‘Wine of The Week’ has been carefully selected this week as it is the perfect accompaniment to your Barbeque.  Taking prominence on our special Barrel is Spanish Red Fork Handles, a Grenache / Syrah blend from the Carinena area of North East Spain.  The area is one of the oldest protected growing regions in Europe and is famous for big, bold high alcohol wines.
Garnacha, the Spanish name for Grenache is now the most widely planted grape in the area, and it is this that is used alongside the Syrah grape to make Fork Handles wine.
This wine is intense black cherry in colour with layers of violet tones resulting in an attractive appearance.  It is complex on the nose with fragrant ripe red and black fruit, with powerful fruit on the palette.  It is perfectly balanced, full and intense with a long finish.
This wine will pair beautifully with any red meats, especially char-grilled steaks and basically anything from the barbeque.
If you’re eating something different, we have a wide selection of wines available at a range of prices to suit all budgets, and our off-sales team are always happy to advise you on the right choice to match a particular dish.
