Wine of the Week…Comahue Pinot Noir
‘Comahue’ Pinot Noir takes the ‘hot spot’ on our Wine Barrell as our Wine of the Week this week. This wine is produced in the cool, mountainous Patagonia region of Argentina.
Pinot Noir is one of the most famous grapes in the world, as it is used to create red wines in the exclusive Burgundy region. It is also reportedly unpredictable, hard to grow and difficult to make wine out of!
However the Argentinian growers appear to have mastered this difficult grape, and it shines through in this weeks featured wine Comahue. Light ruby in colour with a purple hue, this wine boasts aromas of red fruit, strawberries and ripe plums. On the palate it is fruity with hints of spices and vanilla and well-balanced with a smooth, lingering finish.
This reasonably priced wine is perfect sipped on it’s own, or served with roasted lamb or cheese. Why not try it with one of our delicious ‘Cheese and Charcuterie Platters’ which are available to order at our In-Store Deli?
If you’re eating something different, we have a wide selection of wines available at a range of prices to suit all budgets, and our off-sales team are always happy to advise you on the right choice to match a particular dish.
